I: In Malaysia it is termed as “Pulau Pinang”. It is one of the Malaysians main tourist deuaves. Its beaches are a little lacklustue when compared with other Malaysian states. But it is compensated by its rich multi cultural history that is full of colonial and Chinese influences. This state has the island of penang covering on area of about 285 sq. kms and a narrow strip of app. 760 sq. kms on the mainland known as sebrang perai i.e province Wellesley which is separated by a channel 3 km wide at the closest point. They are linked by the penang bridge and a cross channel ferry service.
Location | On the north west coast of Peninsula Malaysia it is one of 13 states of the federation of Malaysia. It is bounded on the north and east by the state of kedah, to the south by the state of perak and to the west by the stuaits of Malacca and Sumatra (Indian Asia). |
